Many years ago, I took a flight from Manchester to Montreal, with a change in Paris. Coming in to Charles de Gaulle airport, we hit a thunderstorm, and we couldn’t land for a while. Knowing I had a connection to make, and with the plane flying through turbulence caused by thunder and lightning, actual lightning flashing down either side of the plane, it was pretty stressful. And yet, not quite as stressful as the flight Heather J Fitt takes us on.

Nurse Melissa is taking a flight with her toddler son. Aaron and Lydia are off to their destination wedding, with both sets of parents and Aaron’s best man, Darius.
Not long into the flight, one of the wedding party is dead. Believed to be a death by natural causes, this assumption soon changes when another death occurs. Someone is bumping off the wedding party. First Class is not the place you want to be on for this flight.
Told from various points of view, and even some thoughts directly from the killer, the story tears along at a rapid pace, and it’s a book that has to be read in one sitting – it’s impossible to put down. The enclosed crime scene serves to ramp up the tension, as there’s no where for the killer to run, no escape for the victims. Questions are asked about who we can trust, who is telling the truth, and you can’t help but turn the pages as the mystery unfolds. I loved the characters, and the cabin staff’s unravelling as the bodies mount up is completely believable and understandable.
It’d be a perfect holiday read – just don’t read it on the plane, or the snacks may not seem so appetising…
This is the first book by Heather Fitt that I’ve read, and it definitely won’t be the last.
Thank you to Heather J Fitt and LoveBooksTours for the gifted copy and for having me on the readalong. The novel is available in KindleUnlimited, and I recommend you go grab it – such an entertaining read!
